The KSC Science mission aims to map the surface of Kerbin as well as monitoring local conditions in space, including temperature, gravity and pressure.
Mapping the surface of Kerbin from orbit is much more accurate and less time consuming than traditional cartography methods currently employed, Kerbal Space Corporation has united with the greatest cartographers and cartographic institutions on Kerbin to ensure the highest standard of mapping.
Using the high resolution ISA Mapsat module supplied by the 'Innsewerants Space Agency' and funded by the Kerbin Cartographers Guild, our aim is to map the entire surface of Kerbin in a single high resolution image which will be supplied to academic institutions around the globe.
The mission also allows Kerbal Space Corporation scientists to perfect the equipment which will be used to begin mapping the surface of The Mun in preparation for the upcoming manned Mun Missions.

The large 'pole' like antenna is used to send telemetry data back to KSC Mission Control, allowing our ground engineers instant access to mission critical information. |
